Rough Terminal

This is one of a series of paintings based on a single photograph that I took from the window of the Rockland Harbor Hotel in Rockland, Maine. Sunset had turned the ocean baby pink. I love the contrast of soft pinks and purples with industrial infrastructure.

This painting is actually based on another painting in the series, Rockland Terminal. I found the first quick, sketchy layer of that painting really appealing, so I made this bigger version that retained the roughness and loose brushwork.
